ITALIA (martedì 25 giugno) – Il 26 giugno è la Giornata Mondiale contro l’Abuso e il Traffico Illecito di Droghe, istituita dalle Nazioni Unite per sensibilizzare l’opinione pubblica su questi gravi problemi globali. Questa giornata, conosciuta anche come “Giornata Mondiale contro l’Abuso”, invita a riflettere sulle gravi conseguenze sociali, economiche e sanitarie legate all’uso e al traffico di sostanze stupefacenti.

Ogni anno, il tema scelto cerca di affrontare diversi aspetti del problema, promuovendo soluzioni basate sulla prevenzione, il trattamento e il supporto ai soggetti coinvolti. Nel 2024, l’attenzione è rivolta all’importanza di una prevenzione efficace e di strategie di trattamento che rispettino i diritti umani, mirate a ridurre il danno e promuovere la salute e il benessere delle comunità.
Secondo l’Organizzazione Mondiale della Sanità (OMS), milioni di persone nel mondo sono affette da disturbi legati alla dipendenza da droghe. Gli sforzi internazionali sono quindi cruciali per combattere questa piaga e promuovere stili di vita sani, liberi dall’abuso di sostanze .
